Welcome to IBJ Media’s Indiana 250, a list of the state’s most influential and impactful leaders across business, philanthropy, the arts, government and not-for-profits. These men and women are making a difference locally, regionally and across the state. The profiles here detail their accomplishments but also give you a peek into their personalities, their leadership styles and more.

ABOUT

The Indiana 250 was developed and published by IBJ Media, the parent company of three news brands—Indianapolis Business Journal, Inside INdiana Business and Indiana Lawyer, whose news leaders and staffs contributed to the selections.

We accepted nominations for inclusion on the list, researched executives and companies, and interviewed state, industry and community leaders about who should be included. But in the end, the selections were made entirely by IBJ Media editors and staff, meaning it is subjective and not comprehensive. We’d love to hear about who you think we missed. Just click on “contact” at the top of the page. You can also learn more about the selection process here.

We hope the Indiana 250 list helps you learn about interesting people doing impactful things in parts of the state where you don’t live. And we think you’ll also learn a few things about people you already know. Enjoy!

ABOUT THE COVER

We shot this year’s cover photo and the photos on all our table of contents pages at Commission Row and Mel’s Speakeasy, a new restaurant and entertainment space owned by Herb Simon and operated by Cunningham Restaurant Group. (Note: Herb Simon and Mike Cunningham are both on the Indiana 250 list!) Commission Row opened next to Gainbridge Fieldhouse and Bicentennial Plaza just before the All-Star Game in February.
